WIP it Out!

{sigh}
I guess I might as well admit it. Here they are:

Guess they're not all that bad...in the background in steel blue/taupe is my K3P3 Healing Shawl, to the left of that the Steelers Aibhlinn, below in taupe, coral, lavender Koigu is Traveling Vines Scarf, then in solid steel blue the Highland Triangle Shawl, and finally in pink and purple is the Diamond Fantasy Shawl. Only Five? I should cast on more...

New! Oressa DPN Case!

Nana Sadie Rose has been very busy making a brand new item for all you Sock Lovers out there in Knitting Land! A double point needle case! (Okay, yes, you can store crochet hooks in it, too)

Note there's not a spec of velcro anywhere to snag your yarn on...

As there are specific fabrics used in this item, please contact me to see what fabric choices are appropriate?

Email me soon! Thank you!

Too Funny!

I laughed today...Wendy had a great shot of Lucy with her latest toy infatuation - a piece of styrofoam that she's carrying everywhere she goes.

Well can you see what The Meezer has appropriated as the "perfect toy?" A tear strip from an Overnight Letter envelope! It's the best toy ever! She carries it in and out of the bedroom, and if she gets on one side of the door with it on the other, she cries till she can get on the other side to get it. She "fetches" it on command, too. "Get your toy!" and off she goes, picks it up and brings it to me.

Now what does that remind you of? Shhhhh...Don't say it out loud! >^..^<

Stop the Bright Lights!

The Meezer thinks I'm becoming obsessed with taking photos of her...

Off Topic-But It's MY Blog! :)

I know. This is a knitting blog. Well, sometimes, I have to include things that just aren’t knitting related, because this blog is moderately well-known (at least in certain circles), and Nana Sadie’s Place doesn’t get nearly the traffic this one does! And yes, I know this would be more appropriate there, but...

But suffice it to say that occasionally I run across something that I want everyone to know about. This is one of those times! If you haven’t visited Celtic Knitter you should. And not just for the lovely knitting, and the gorgeous Siamese cats, either! He is a lovely person, writes well, and tells a good story. So you want to visit for that reason alone!

However, you’ll want to stop by another of his sites…because he’s a very talented musician and composer! So be sure you check out Matthew’s music? My taste in music is very eclectic: I love opera, classical symphonic, all the 50’s thru the 80’s pop music, blue grass, jazz, musicals, rock operas, Celtic, Asian, Tibetan bells … well you get the drift. Matthew’s music speaks to me. I hope you’ll enjoy it, too!

Pensive Meezer...

And just what are you thinking, Ms. Meeze?

Second Time's The Charm?

Here we go again...this time, I think we're going to make it! Notice three lifelines there? Well, I'm almost ready for another one...in about 6 rows. I learned my lesson well when I frogged this completely a couple weeks ago. But how I love this pattern! Highland Triangle Shawl from Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle. There is one row in the pattern that snags me repeatedly, so that if I'm trying to watch TV, I can guarantee I'll tink at least once, but otherwise the pattern is a dream. Soon will start picking up on the sides for the 2nd lace pattern. Jane is way ahead of me, has already done that part. But I never said I knit fast! (((hugs))) Posted by Picasa

Kelly's Stitch Markers!

These lovelies were waiting for me when I got home tonight - what a great lift they were! If you haven't visited Kelly's yet, you really should! Thanks Kelly! I love them! And they're such a help with knitting lace!

Learning Lace...

I'm completely engrossed by knitting lace, pleased to be involved in a couple of KALs with lace designers presently, and honored to be a member of yahoo lace groups with other lace designers (links are over there in the sidebar ----->). I learn so much from these artists, I even have a file in my inbox for "lace experts!"

Today I discovered that one of the bloggers I routinely read has posted a primer of lace knitting that is excellent, so be sure, lace aficionados, that you check out Eunny. You won't be sorry!

I'm Her Chosen Person!

This special lady is now 4 1/2 years old, and has been with me four of those years, since I rescued her. She is, as most Meezers are, completely devoted to (besotted with?) her Person. But - she has never been a lapcat. She has to be right next to me, sleeps plastered to my side at night, even under the covers, if it's especially cold. But never on my lap. Tonight that all changed. I was knitting, she was at my feet on the floor. I reached to stroke first head, then chin, then began to croon to her...she stood and moved to the side of the chair, I "kissed" and motioned up with my fingers. She jumped to the wingchair arm. Then slowly, one paw at a time, stepped into my lap. And settled down, finally stretching out one long front leg in relaxation. Oh MY. I feel so honored, so special. Her Chosen Person. Will she ever do this again? If she does, will I ever knit again?  Posted by Picasa

Lace Shawl Order #1

Finally, I've gotten around to ordering and receiving the Knitpicks laceweight undyed merino for my Catharina Shawl for the Faroese Shawls KAL. There are 3 skeins of this, but I only photoed one. But then, of course, I couldn't resist adding Elizabeth I lace scarves and Hanging Gardens stole patterns to the order. And since shipping is free over $40 I finally succumbed to Barbara Walker's First Treasury of Knitting Patterns. It may take me 3 more years to get each of the others in the series! But I wanted this one for the lace! Posted by Picasa

Lace Shawl Order #2

Two of the shawl patterns I ordered, Victorian Rose and Weeping Willow (from Two Old Bags), and the palest pink laceweight merino from Joslyn's. This is such a sweet color (rose, it's called, and I'd say it's the palest sweetheart rose) and is just so soft! Posted by Picasa

AC Moore Sale - Ruana Stash Additions

These lovelies will add to what I already have in my stash so I can soon knit my Ruana from Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle. Posted by Picasa

Free Pattern Sources!

Ok. I'm probably hopelessly behind the times, but I was blogging today and discovered this site on another blog (can't remember which one now, sorry) and felt I should share with my readers, too! Lots of choices for free patterns for all sorts of folks.

And of course there are the two on-line knitting magazines Mag Knits and Knitty and all the various yarn brand sites, too.

How could we possibly have to pay for patterns? Well....of course we do, or at least some of us do...I'll be sharing some of the ones I recently purchased in the next day or two - when they've all gotten to me!

Who's Frogging Now?

Posted by Picasa I'm the one who espouses the lifeline, right? Can you see my mistake? It took Jane less than 15 seconds! Was there a lifeline? Nope...Wish I could blame this one on the Meezer, but I don't think she's tried to knit that chart yet... lololol! What am I gonna do now? It's already frogged. A glass of Merlot poured. I'll start Highland Triangle Shawl again tomorrow. And the next time you see it, you'll see lifelines - I promise!

Namaste

I honor the place in you,

which is of love, truth, light, and peace.

When you are centered in that place in you,

and I am centered in that place in me,

we are one.
