I'm the one who espouses the lifeline, right? Can you see my mistake? It took Jane less than 15 seconds! Was there a lifeline? Nope...Wish I could blame this one on the Meezer, but I don't think she's tried to knit that chart yet... lololol! What am I gonna do now? It's already frogged. A glass of Merlot poured. I'll start Highland Triangle Shawl again tomorrow. And the next time you see it, you'll see lifelines - I promise!

My sympathies - I've been there and done that on this pattern. It's that K2TOG, K1, K2TOG, YO, K1, YO row that gets us.. It's too blasted easy to put two extra YOs around the K1 in the middle of the K2TOGs. I've done it time and again and had to tink back.
I sure understand the need for a lifeline when knitting lace....I've learned the hard way, too! : )
Also, love your picture in front to the wool wall. It looks like you are having a wonderful time.

Enjoy the merlot, it will make things seem a little brighter ;)
I'm so sorry Sallee! I wish you luck on the second go around. I've been there before too!

Well, if it makes you feel better...I don't see any mistake...course I still consider myself new to knitting (been knitting for about 5 years now, but mostly mittens and "easy" things).
Also, a stupid question, but what are lifelines? I've heard others use that term before too but never knew what exactly they ment.
Shelley - take a look at my Feb 9 2006 entry and see the Diamond Fantasy Shawl with the white yarn "lines" running thru - those are lifelines - you run a contrasting yarn thru the loops at a row where you know everything up to that point is right. Then keep knitting - if you make a mistake you frog back just to that row. And start again.
Without a lifeline, you frog the entire thing - like I did last night!
:(
liflelines are definitely a must with knitting lace...sympathy goes out to you!
