First Pair SOS Done!
But I did!
(please note the tail of my Knitting Assistant - she was trying hard to get into the photo without getting the flash in her eyes, and she succeeded!)
These are the STR Pink Granite socks. The pattern is a corruption of one from the Knitting Stiches Calendar Fancy Slip Stitch Rib - EXCEPT I goofed! This is knit in the round.
So I changed the pattern without meaning to, and when I was into it a few rounds decided that rather than fix my mistake I'd live with it. So let's call this one "Knitnana's Trial and Error Slip Stitch Rib?" lol
Yarn: STR lightweight in Pink Granite colorway - I LOVE this colorway...black/pink/cream/dusky lavender - JUST gorgeous...
Needles: Harmony circulars (2) size 1.5
Pattern Stitch: Row 1: *K1, sl1, K1, P2* around on 60 stitches for the cuff
Row 2: *K3, P2*
(I used Judy's Magic Cast On and knit my standard foot (52 stitches) and heel...then increased to 60 stitches for the cuff.
Time to Knit: June 21, 2008 (12:01 a.m.) till tonight! (June 28, 2008)
Here's a close-up of the rib (I kinda like it even if it's nowhere near what I intended to do...!):
My next sock (to be cast on tonight, I hope!) will be a plain vanilla stockinette in Meilenweit Meeting that Chris sent me ages ago - in a blue/white/grey/black combo. With the cat show looming next weekend, I don't need to be knitting anything complicated!
Speaking of cat shows...I cut and prepared 4 bags for sewing today! That's a LOT. And here is my faithful sewing assistant in her new "office:"
That's directly under my sewing machine, and just behind the trashcan I use for threads and scraps. I've noticed that this is the spot she goes to (other than under the bed) when there's a thunderstorm (and we've had a lot of those, lately!).
She's right next to my feet here, and I guess it seems like a protected spot!
I like her being down there more than being on top of the cutting table with the fabric!
lol!

Nice socks - congratulations!
Yes, my Meezers also seem to subscribe to the "if you can't see me, I'm ok" school of security. It's kind of nice to have them near your ankles, isn't it?
pretty socks!! Remind me next time I see you that I have something for you :D
Very nice, and I quite like your unintentional rib pattern!
I still love the pink granite color. Meezer looks very cozy under there. :-)
For a so-called "mistake" in your ribbing, it sure looks nice!
cute-a-rooney!
I didn't like Pink Granite when I first got my skein, and I kind of accidentally let Che wipe it out. But then I started to love it and had to order a second skein to knit my club socks. And now they are one of my favorite pairs.
Love the socks! Those colours are awesome! Meezer is so adorable too...watching over you :)
oh i love those socks, the colorway is great!
Beautiful socks!!
Eight days to knit a pair? Face it, you rock.
Meezer is too cute. Onyx used to burrow under the covers during storms. :)
