Clapotis - C'est Finis!
What IS this, Mommie?
Well, she is my Fleece Artist Sea Wool Clapotis!
Specs: fingering weight wool/sea silk blend in what I believe is the colorway "Jester" (FA doesn't put colorways on the band, but this is the closest I can come from her website.
Needles: began with Addi Lace needles size 4, switched to Addi Naturas in size 4 at the end, and wish I'd had them all the way thru the knit - this yarn is sooo soft - the Lace needles were fine, but the bamboo gave me a bit more control...
Started in July 2007 and finished last night! FAST knit.
Modifications? Well, I did add one repeat to the straight section. I wish I'd added at least 6 more (according to the marker I used, one repeat in this yarn was about 2 inches long). The finished scarf right now is 53 inches - a nice length for around my neck, and I was able to sit with it skirting my shoulders last night at the computer, but I don't think it's quite long enough for a wrap, I really could have made it longer...
I mean, after all, I have some yarn left...
(standard portable phone added for scale)
I'll weigh this when I get to work tomorrow, but I suspect there's about 2/3 of the skein left! Now...shall I make Mrs. Beeton's or maybe one of Anne's fingerless mitts with the leftovers?
And would I make this again? OH YEAH...Such a wonderful, fun knit (and I've got some yarn all set for it! *wink*)

It's "purdy"!!
It's just lovely!!!
I never made a clapotis but is there anyway to undo the bind off and add more length?
It's lovely and the colors look just perfect for your coloring! :)
Oh, it is beautiful Sallee! And I do believe the color is Jester.
Super nice!! Wishing I already had the yarn on hand to start one!! I think I even want one with reds.
Gorgeous! And wow, that was fast.
Gorgeous!!! Love it, love it! And psssssssst, I just awarded you "Rockin' Girl Blogger" on my blog...go get the button! LOL
It turned out really pretty -- and some matching wrist warmers will be lovely.
It looks soft even in the photo. How many yards in a skein of Fleece Artist Sea Wool? I'm thinking of the 9 colors of Palette I have sitting here in beautiful heathers.
oh it turned out lovely. i'm teaching a class in how to make it tonight & it is so much fun. i'm currently doing a scarf version in a fun ribbon.
How lovely and that really was a fast knit! It seems like it just flew off your needles. I can't get over how much yarn you have leftover. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
So, so beautiful! What great colors! :)
Beautiful clap! I'm doing one right now in Evita Zitron and I'm glad you added the comment about doing more straight rows...I just finished the first 13 repeats of the straight section and was debating whether or not it was a bad plan to do another complete set because I thought the length wasn't proportionate to the width in this particular yarn...but I'm definitely going to keep going!
Cheers!
