Reprise of PF (sigh)

Just call me "Hop-a-long."

While my plantar fasciitis has never gotten a lot better, this weekend, and again today, it's been aggravated severely by missteps. I've spent a lot of time on ice tonight, and am beginning to think I'll have to return to the podiatrist before the week is out. That doesn't make me happy in the least. I've already spent enough money on this thing, and I've much better things to do with it, ya know? Yarn, anyone? How about Knitpicks Harmony straights? Or perhaps a set of Addi Lace needles in 16-inch circulars for socks? Those pointy tips would be great! Or patterns? I know - a new book?.

But not. Ok. I'm grateful I have it to spend on my foot. Really, I am...
(sigh)
In an attempt to "make it all better" I sat in front of the TV tonight, gorging myself on cable news shows, and knitting.

I finished these!

Yarn: Regia sock yarn in the Florence colorway
Needles: Harmony size 1.5, 2 circs
Pattern: my "plain vanilla" with picot edge
Time to complete: August 31, 2008 - September 22, 2008

Someone else wanted to "help" with the photo shoot...
I hope you can see how close I came to matching these stripes - even on the heels!!! (ok...there's a brown cat tail in there...but I think you can see them)

whoohoo!

So. I felt so accomplished, and I knew I couldn't just sit (ok, I could have worked on a WIP, but...) with my foot on ice watching the talking heads and not have SOMETHING in my hands, and I wanted something new:
Habitat is OTN! I've finished the ribbing and will begin the pattern tomorrow.
I couldn't resist this belly shot.

Of course, no sooner had I taken it, I got up to get a drink of water, and came back to my chair to step on her foot. She had moved UNDER the chair while I was gone and I didn't know it.

She's forgiven me now, but I felt so bad to have hurt HER foot when mine hurts more than enough for both of us.

I'm so far behind on my reading, and I'm so sorry to hear that your feet are doing it again!! The socks are so gorgeous that it really seems like they ought to help, but I know that's probably not the case. Hang in there, I hope they feel better fast.

Good job on the socks!! I'm always too lazy to bother matching stripes, but I do appreciate it when someone else does it. LOL!

So sorry about the sore feet all around. :-(

Great socks but very sorry to hear about the tootsie problems. I had PF, NOT FUN at all. Shoes that fit properly and support well really do help. But heh, I'm still bad, yesterday I was wearing VERY flat sandals, running around at work. A no no but I still like how they look. Can you relate Sallee!!!

Dear Meezer, watch your tootsies too. You are looking tres lovely, all stretched out for the camera.

Hugs, G

Sorry about ol' PF - Pain in the Foot; ice and stretching is about all you can do. Fabulous socks though - feet should really behave better with such a beautiful covering! You are inspiring me to attempt to finish my long ago started first pair. Take care.

Sorry your feet have been so painful. I had a bad time with mine with all the walking. My podiatrist said my pain comes from pads of fat in my feet that press against the nerves. Luckily I got a bad headache while we were in Vienna and I discovered that my headache medicine works on feet nerves too! Zowie! Pain free walking! It's a medication meant for either migraine or tension headaches, and has a component that reduces swelling in nerves, so I think that's why it worked.

Hope you feel better soon. With those perfectly matched socks, your feet should perk up.

Sorry to hear about your foot. I live with PF too and I know how painful it can be.
