A Productive Easter Weekend
So my weekend started on Thursday night with my monthly Knitting group:
We really had a nice turnout...there are a few bloggers here and there in the group, like Pam and then...
Robin, Nikki,
and Rae, and Tanya - OH...GO THERE, if you haven't already, and see the cutest knitted pigs (she calls them Chichi!).... The pattern is available and Tanya had her pink Chichis with her, and Nikki had made a multi-colored one...TOO CUTE! You must get that pattern (and so must I, I can think of 3 DGSs who would love little piggies...)
As with the rest of a large part of the country, we had unbelievable cold this weekend...here? The front of my new house - pre-Easter weekend freeze...I'm sick that these blooms may have succumbed to the frigid temperatures we've had. At least we really did avoid snow - unlike some parts of the country. There were snow flurries Saturday that left little patches in places, mostly out in the county, but flurries nonetheless...brrrrrrrrr....!!
So...I finished up an order for a bag to be raffled off at an upcoming Northern Virginia dog show (a cute new Michael Miller print that's all spring and pink/green/browns!)
And then -
the majority of the weekend was taken up in making up multiple Posies!
I broke one of my Colonial Rosewood dpns (a replacement is on the way) so I had to stop the STR sock for the moment, and was "casting about" for something to cast on...I pulled out two similar skeins of Koigu PPPM and began the Chevron Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I'm probably the last person in the world to look at this book (usually I'm a day late and a dollar short!) but I borrowed it from the library and think it probably really should come home permanently.
It's been hard this weekend. The Blonde Bombshell hasn't been well for several weeks, and we began home fluid treatments. While she looks pretty good in this shot, you can tell she's grumpy. The worst thing right now, I think, is that she has gone almost completely deaf in the past few months. Since she can't hear me (or herself), she's taken to screaming to find me. As long as I can get her attention by turning on and off lights, we're fine. Otherwise, I have to get UP and go find HER. Often that's at 4 a.m.
She's not the only one who's grumpy about that...
(((Hugs)))

Happy Easter to you - poor little Bombshell. She looks so pettable, even if she is grumpy!
(I don't trust myself to get a Chichi pattern - I'd be knitting pigs for months.)
Happy Easter!
I love the new bags. The raffle bag is SO CUTE and perfect for dog lovers. : )
I hope that you and the BB get some nice rest soon. Bless her little kitty heart...and bless yours, too.
Oh, poor kitty. She looks very grumpy, but also very cuddly.
I know what you mean about communicating with a deaf animal. I've worked out a flashlight/floor stomping means of communication with my nearly deaf dog. She's also caught on to some simple sign language.
Awwwwwwwwwww, poor baby, give her a big hug for me. I ALMOST sold Buddy because I thought he was making a mess in the house today...come to find out it was all the boiled eggs the kids brought home that smelled! So, of course, I called the lady back & said I couldn't bear to part with his cute little face. :)
I hated to miss Thursdays meeting. I'm sure it was lots of fun as usual. Your Posy's look great! You're gonna love that Koigu chevron. I gave you that scarf pattern I used didn't I.?
Wow you were busy this weekend! Hope you had a Happy Easter!
I love all your new bags!
I'm sad the BB isn't feeling well, it's so hard to have an ailing fur baby!
As far as bloglines go- they SUCK!! I noticed that I wasn't getting my usual # of comments, especially for an FO like the Carninval Throw so I emailed Bloglines the supposedly have fixed things! I guess if you could suddenly see my last 3 posts, it's fixed :)
Okay, it's not often I see myself on a blog...I seriously need to lose some weight!!
Love the socks...poor kitty!
Poor grumpy Blondie.. Having played "staff" to a cat who was pretty deaf, I know what you're going through. The scarf is beautiful and the bags are wonderful!! {{{HUGS}}}
The sock bags are really cute. If I didn't have two already, I'd be standing in line for one.
Poor kitty! And poor you!
I love that scarf pattern. One of these days I'll check for it at my library.
Your garden looked fabulous! Glad you got to enjoy it before the cold wave hit... I am so sorry to hear about the Blond Bombshell. It is pretty hard to watch such changes. Thanks for the link to the Chichi... I just love knitted or crocheted stuffed animals.
poor kitty! she must be terrified at what's happening to her. I know you're giving her a lot of hugs. I often wish my cats could understand English so that I could explain things to them.
hugs to you and the Bombshell!
Whew! You've been very productive!
Sorry to hear about the Bombshell's problems. Must be tough to be an animal and all of a sudden not able to hear. Good thing she has a loving mama.
Oh, poor BB!! Poor you!! *hug*
Your Posy Sock Bags are SO cute and sturdy - I'm looking forward to using it!! I'm glad to hear they've been so well received, too.
Sorry about Blonde Bombshell...that's no fun :(
I'm glad everyone loves your bags but I knew they would! :)
The cold is really starting to get to me...it is April and I can see my breath...there is something wrong here!
Your sock is really lovely...sorry about the broken needle.
I will keep you and your BB in my prayers. :)
oh, what a lovely post. i love to see knitters get together and to cyber meet new ones- its so fun. and you have been busy.
hope you got some rest.
last minute knitted gifts is a great book. poor kitty looks so angry
Dear BB, Do hope you are feeling better. Screaming is always a good way to get the humans attention (if all else fails!!!).
Headbonks, The Mitz
/hugs to kitty -- I grew up with someone that couldn't hear and I know how frustrating it was for both of us (and I still talk too loudly!)... Hope she gets over her grumpies and feels better soon...
