Hardly Seems Right...
to run on about a largesse tonight...
My Sock Guru, Rae lost everything she owned in a house fire today, including her beloved kitty. She and her husband escaped with their lives and not a lot else. The house has been demolished.
The Roanoke Valley Spinners & Knitters have been on high alert via phone, email, and Ravelry Group Forum today, passing information. The community has stepped up to the plate, and Rae and her husband are safe, dry, and not quite ready to look to the future (tomorrow will be soon enough).
So if you don't mind? I'm going to turn off the computer tonight. We've a threat of tornadoes and heavy t-storms anyway. I'm going to go knit on a sock. The Trekking 176 socks are done, and adorning Rae's feet. Thank heaven we wear the same size.
I promise, tomorrow I'll come back with the second part of my goodies. But tonight? I'm going to go knit a sock and cuddle a certain Siamese, and a Calico who isn't too hep on cuddling.
She's gonna get some, anyway.

Oh no! My heart just hurts for them. All my good thoughts are heading in their direction.

Oh, no! I'm so saddened to hear of your friends' situation. Thank goodness they have the community to surround them with support. Thank goodness they have friends like you :o)
I'm so sorry about your friend. I was especially saddened to hear about their cat. It really is a good thing Rae has such a wonderful support network.
Wow, that's just tragic Sallee. I feel so sorry about your friend's losses. The part about the kitty just tore me up. Hits close to home, I don't think I'd cope with that part especially.

Thank god your friends are ok but what a tragic loss! Their precious kitty and all their possessions! My thoughts and prayers are with them!
