Repacking...
But I did have my two socks in progress (one of which is my Personal Sock Club from July that's a long way from being completed) and I realized that they were both packed and I wanted to knit tonight while watching a bit of tv and thinking again what else I might want to pack.
So I opened another gift bag (I'll get all of these caught up, not to worry). And the funny thing? I decided that I needed to just do something completely easy, so was delighted to see the Trekking XXL colorway 173 appear from the bag, and immediately cast on using my Knitpicks Options circulars in my plain vanilla pattern (I think I'll probably put the picot edging on, too).
And then stopped by Stephanie's blog. What a surprise - and oh my I got so excited (it's okay, go read it if you haven't, I'll wait.) to see that the convention center is getting all ready for us!
And she picked the easy plain vanilla sock for her travel knitting, too. Of course, I'm leaving this sock behind.
It will have to keep The Meezer company. (sigh)
That's the hardest part of leaving, you know. Not being able to take everyone with me.
(Now don't forget to post a comment to the contest blog, okay? I'll do my very best to check emails and get them up whenever I can...)
And yes, I'll take lots of photos.

Leaving furry sweeties behind is always the downside of any trip.
Have a wonderful time! Those of us who can't attend will want to hear all about your adventures.
That's the worst bit, leaving Hez at home.
Have fun! Glad the weather cooled off a bit for you. Plain vanilla sock knitting sounds perfect.
awww. the reason i didn't travel for a few years was because of onyx. now it's look out world. ;-)
you're going to have a fabulous time. i just know it. *hugs*
The funny thing about Stephanie's post is that I was just deciding that I needed a plain-Jane sock, too! I've got some lovely yarn for it, so I'll probably be bringing that along with my one lace project (for the beading class). See you soon!
Awwh.. I don't want you to feel sad while embarking on such a great adventure. I did follow the links and look at Stephanie's pictures, then at the Ravelry dye winners (and had to pre-order Georgia Peach while I had the chance!), so I can see you are in for one fine, fun and wild time. Glad you can leave the purr furs in good hands and get away.
