May Day! And Best Buddy Award
It's also the first of the month so I can open the next edition of my Personal Sock Club! Whoohoo!
That's Regia Kaffe Fasset colorway Landscape Storm (4251). Part of me is delighted: A striped sock! Colors! Plain Vanilla! (I'm so easy to please)
Part of me is disappointed. I was hoping something suitable would turn up to knit a pattern from Wendy's book but there's no way this yarn is right for lace...which probably just means I need to check stash and see if there is a solid or semi-solid I'd like to use! *wink*
On a very, very serious note, I'm giving a new award: The Best Buddy Award. I've been stinking sick this week - miserable. So rotten I wasn't good company for myself. Couldn't even talk on the phone (you know I was sick). Barely got the cat litter changed in time for the trash (that was on Tuesday, the night I finally went to the doctor). Sometimes it was a struggle to get up for a drink, forget about anyone else having a drink. Or crunchies. (Yes, they did get fed and watered, but they don't know what a struggle it was.)
You know who was there through it all?
The very best buddy in the world: The Meezer.
She was there scampering for the far corner of the bed when I coughed (loud noises she doesn't like). She was dashing off the bed to the far corner of the room, hunkering down and staring back at me worriedly when I sneezed (repeatedly, unfortunately). She came back and glued herself to my side when I slept (or lay in a daze praying my head would open and stop pounding, depending on the day). She padded after me to the bathroom, up and down the stairs, sat pensively watching me from the back of the sofa as I stared at too many political news shows and Golden Girl repeats. Listened to me croak and wheeze. And she did all that for precious few head rubs and chin scritches, tho' I did try.
Still she worried over me and loved me for every single second of it...
What can I say, Mommie? I hafta keep ya.
That old CC ignored you the whole time.
Besides, you have thumbs - the cans won't open without you.
Ah. And I thought it was devotion?
*wink*

Bless you, Meezer, for your devotion.
We're all so glad you're getting better, Nana!
It's always all about the opposable thumbs ;)
Hooray for Meezer!! And hooray for feeling better enough to leave the house!!
Aww glad to see she didn't desert you. Kitties don't always know how to help you when you are not yourself, but they always let you know that they want to help you the only way they know how!
Sorry to hear you were sick, but glad you are getting better. What a good kitty Meezer was. I think it is best not to question a cat's motivation for doing anything.
What a good girl you are, Nurse Meezer - even if it's all about the thumbs :o)
What a good kitty!
Oh Meezer, what a dear you are! I am so glad you took good care of your mom. The "kids" here don't like loud sneezes or coughs either.
Hope you feel loads better Sallee, take care.
Hugs, G
