Not to Be A Scrooge or Anything....
It's insane...thankfully, my public radio station is still a haven of calm...
Geesh people - it's not even Thanksgiving yet! Can we save it for Black Friday, at least?
obviously not, or they would have already

I gave up when I went to Rite Aid the day before Halloween and there were two aisles full of christmas things. Seriously. Ow.
I firmly believe it is a psychological ploy to put folks in the mood to shop! And since the economy has been so bad, they're trying to play catch up now. Of course where I am is 80 degrees and I certainly don't feel like Christmas anything!
I keep track of the weather there at home and you are pretty chilly right now! I never thought I would miss winter but I do!
That's why I like my Sirius satellite radio! Although, Dale and I were driving home from a meeting last night and there were snow flakes coming down so we switched over to the local station that's playing Christmas music. At least it felt like December that way!
My husband is already listening to Christmas music at home. Of course he's always been like this. *sigh*
Ah, yes. Our church keeps Advent, a time of reflective preparation for Christmas. No Christmas carols in November for us!
Since DH is as annoyed by the early onslaught of Christmas music as you are, I take this opportunity to thank him for paying for satellite radio in the car. Light classical music on demand -- it's a good thing!
December first. December first, I tell you. Honestly -- what's the fun of Christmas when everyone's sick of it by the time it arrives? I tell my girls that there will be NO carols in the house until December. Period.
Gosh, I'm a grinch. :)
I was driving on Halloween and flipping through the stations and found one that had already gone to the all Christmas music format ON HALLOWEEN. Totally absurd and annoying.
You, my dear, are no Scrooge. You are simply using good sense, unlike most department and big box stores. I even spotted an advert for a high-end auto dealership that was Christmas-tinged.
It's insultingly early.
They've been doing that around here for the last few years - before Halloween. It's insane. I think Becky hit the nail on the head but it's having the opposite effect on me, I'm getting quite anti-shopping Christmas.
what i think is insane is all the christmas decorations coming up before halloween. das crazy! :-o
I haven't heard the Christmas Muzak yet but I kinda freaked when I saw a commercial for Hershey's Holiday Kisses 2 days ago.
All that stuff used to happen after Thanksgiving and even that was premature!
