About Me
- Name: Nana Sadie
- Location: Virginia, United States
I'm a young Nana to 5 grandchildren, mom to a DD, and I'm owned by my cats: three very special rescued kitties, a Tonkinese, a Siamese, and a newly whole Himalayan. They are known here as The Tonk, Mimi, and Moji, which is Hindi for Sock (appropriate, right?). I'm the cat mom as well, to the late Meezer who helped me start the Knitnana blog and whose spirit lives on in our home. Sewing is my business, knitting is my passion, tho' I'm a bit slow at it thanks to an arthritic thumb! I'm learning to be a passionate paper fanatic, an art journaling, junk journaling, paper planner/traveler's notebook nut. Please visit my shop at http://nanasadiesattic.etsy.com. My Knitnana blog has been retired, upon the death of it's best-known mascot, Meezer. So http://nanasadiesplace.blogspot.com is the blog home I'm nurturing now.

"a VERY special shawl" "made in white"...hummmmmmmm conjures up all kinds of possibilities in my mind!
I love the pattern of the red one and the size and draping of the white one. Both are beautiful...guess it is a coin toss. Which is appealing to you knitting wise? Will be anxious to hear the final choice.

For some reason I like the shaped triangle shawl. They are both beautiful.

Both are very ambitious looking shawls! I am partial to the first one, but it may be the color, rather than pattern that stands out. Have you selected the yarn, yet?
Your blog is fascinating! I'm new to the whole blog idea, so it's very interesting to me to read and enjoy the pictures. It's like a tiny soap opera, only very real and cozy.

The Shaped Triangle has more of an interesting "visual texture" with all the different stitch combinations. The faroese one seems just to be the same pattern repeated over and over again. I think with a single color yarn I would want to go with something that wowed me with design.
Hmmmmm.....a WHITE shawl? For a special occasion? Do you also have new jewelry in your future? :)
I do love both of the shawls, but the white one appeals to me more. Both in size, drape and design.
Shaped triangle .... but, admittedly so - both are beautiful!
Both are beautiful. You just know you'll be happy with either (or both! says the greedy knitter in me). If I had to pick one to do first or for a special occasion, I'd go with the faroese shawl. It's the rippling drape, so much like a cape or veil that captures MY fancy (fantasy). Hmmm. Also, if it is something to be done on a deadline, this looks like it might be an easier construction to manage.
Gorgeous, both. But I'd save the more difficult pattern for a situation in which I could enjoy the difficulty, not be worried by whether or not I'd get it done on time! Just me though. Others rise to such challenges; I go find chocolate!

The triangle gets my vote. I like the different stitch patterns and the contrast in length (long in the back).
The faroese looks like it would be easier to wear, but it isn't as exciting as the other.
I like the red one better. The patterns are delicate and sweet just like you! :)
