Yes, It's Finally Happened: I've Gone To The Dark Side...

I've joined the Cult of Noro!!

It started when some FB page or other (I don't remember whose so I can't blame anyone) posted this photo from the current edition of the new Noro Knitting Magazine:

What? I've never knit a sweater, you say? You would be right. In fact, the only garment that might be construed as being other than socks or shawls that I have knitted is a NORO (yup!) sideways knit vest known by the moniker "My First Vest" which made me look so much like the broad side of a barn, that it helped me make up my mind to lose weight those 3 years ago! (um...yes, with the help of my pal, Anno, it is in the frog pond as we speak - the Noro Iro will be used for something else, but I have no idea what, yet...)

Ah, but that little tank top? It's a combo of horizontals and verticals. This might be more flattering, in fact, I think it's adorable, except for the orange. So I ordered myself this,

along with the Spring issue of the magazine. When the magazine came? I was so enamored, I hurriedly ordered the premier issue of the magazine from last fall...and of course, by then, I'd learned all about the "Cult of Noro," and how I simply had to join.

So today? Well...I've added two skeins of Noro Silk Garden sock to my Webs basket for Metalouse which Anno has made (and that helped to enable me right over there, dontcha know...), and two skeins of color 40 in Noro Kureyon (to go with the two I already have from a gift I received ages ago from Ruinwen) for Pop!.

Oy. I've got it baaaaddd....

Last of June Weekend

While I've been doing very little, the 'maters? They've been growing like weeds. Amazing. My Sweetheart and I went off this morning and found some basil plants I intend to add to these pots in the morning. While gone, we went by the annual car show here in town - I.Have.Never.Seen.So.Many.Vintage.And.Souped-Up/Morphed.Cars! If you're interested in seeing some photos of the event, you can visit our local CBS station website here. I'm a Ford girl so the T-Birds get my interest every time.

Anyway, I started PT this past week. I'm mostly out of the sling, except to sleep a little in the pre-dawn hours - not sure why I wake up and seem to need it then, but I do. PT will, no doubt, end up being something I adore, tho' it's pretty painful right now. Mostly, I'm being stretched, but I can feel strength coming back into my arm little by little. It will be a 3 month process (and beyond, if what I'm hearing is true). But my goal is not just to be back where I was before, but to be way better. I haven't had nice looking arms and shoulders in years because I couldn't tolerate the workouts to get there. My hope is to be able to use light weights to sculpt a bit of muscle, but we'll see!

Daily Occurance

What confronts me whenever I start down the stairs, regardless of the time of day or night.

Still Here

But there's not a lot to report. To say I'm bored would be an understatement. Lately Ten on Tuesday posts haven't been things I was inspired to write about, and I need inspiration to write ... With a serious case of boredom, I promise you that inspiration is failing me completely. So. How about a timetable? Friday I see the PA and learn whether I get this sling off. I'm betting I'll just go into a less restrictive one, but we well see. PT is supposed to be on the agenda (hopefully beginning next week). I'm still relying on the kindness of friends and family to transport me where I need to be, and sometimes that doesn't work as planned. When such things fall thru, it's hard to stare out the window and see the Forester at the ready...{sigh} I was told that I could start driving again at the 8 week mark, which is one day before my birthday in mid-July. This may be the first time since achieving "a certain age" that I simply can't wait for my birthday to get here!! So...that is the state of my world.....

Namaste

I honor the place in you,

which is of love, truth, light, and peace.

When you are centered in that place in you,

and I am centered in that place in me,

we are one.
