CABIN FEVER!
Work closed, as the secondary roads and residential streets were impassable, so we had a snow day. I've seen tons of Disney movies, and thank heaven for ABC Family Channel. We had lots of fun things to watch and did some crafts, too. But this isn't the way I'd have preferred to spend an unexpected long weekend.
Every night, after DGS went to dreamland, someone else came out of hiding (Please excuse the carpet in desperate need of vacuuming, it might have been done this weekend, if my plans hadn't gone awry):
One of her "old favorites" in the toy department, a much loved wand with sparkly fringe. Every so often I'll hear a "plink, plink, plinkety, plink" on the stairs and realize that she's found it again, and she's coming up or down to find me to waggle the other end of it...after all, there's no fun if Mommie's not involved. Still, she doesn't ever stay with it long and boredom creeps in:
This time? I got a little fed up with her and tossed it into the hallway (onto the hardwood floor) - Plink!
A prime example of why many people think of the Siamese as the most "doglike" of all cats...shall we have a game of fetch?
So I tossed it again...
off she went and brought it back...
and again...
And again!!
Until finally? She brought it part way back into the room and dropped it out of my reach:
I'm tired Mom, this is boring, too, now...
When I took DGS#1 home this afternoon, I stopped by Michaels, thinking I might get inspired (I also wanted size 10.5 dpns, but you know they're out, right?)
When I discovered this? I realized I was doomed.
Do you think I have enough time?

Think of all the leftover yarn you could use with those little critters!
It's not like any one of them is a big knitting commitment, either.
(In other words, would I EVER tell you not to knit something?)
That is SUCH a cool book. I don't even knit toys, and I've thought about getting it! I'm not sure about the time, though...
Isn't it funny how the silliest "toys" are always the favs? No use spending on the designer varieties eh? I've done that a few times and ended up giving these away.
Meezer you are looking fine!
Hugs and Happy Holidays Sallee, G
oh i haven't seen that book before! i must seek it out! i love making toys!
i think you have enough time. toys go very quickly. :)
What great photos of the Meezer! Makes my day:) I do think you will find making toys fun and even a bit addictive.... very cute ways to rely solely on stash, especially if you don't get too attached to what colors you *should* use.
My carpet looks like yours times 3 - these cats should be bald given the amount of fun of the carpet, the afghans & our coats! We had a cat that would retrieve paper wads so we could toss them again. Plus I told you in the email about Boomer's latest "cat toy" (lol) {{{HUGS}}}
