Grand Opening of Knitter's Knook!

I'd hoped that my trek to Knitter's Knook's Grand Opening would be shared with my pal Lynette, but she announced this a.m. that she'd caught a cold and didn't want to ride in the car with me - and she's right - I don't need another bout of something! Get well, Lynette! We missed you!

I wandered down early and upon my arrival, found Aunt Pam!, Catie, Nikki, and Stephanie had all arrived ahead of me! We had a blast and before too much time had passed, along came Diana. A lot of other gals dropped in and out, (it's a bit unnerving, but exciting, too, to meet someone who reads your blog that you've never realized is out there! Please DO comment when you're here, okay???) so it was a lot of fun meeting so many new folks.

The food was delightful (and I ate way too much), the door prizes were amazing and what do you know?

I won one of them:

This is CTH Suri Alpaca in Country Garden with the Elfin Lace Shawl pattern. It's scrumptious...Thank you, Becky, I can't wait to knit this one!

I had promised that I would take a photo of Becky's Log Cabin blanket. This doesn't do it justice. No way. The colors are divine and this photo has a slightly garish cast. If you're familiar with Mission Falls colors, you know that...

But here's the start of my Mission Falls Log Cabin (ok, I haven't put it OTN yet, but this is the yarn) and several of the colors here are in Becky's blanket. This photo is more true to hue...

Becky, the shop is so wonderful. Pam and I agreed that this is the shop we've always wanted in the area. You've created something super special, homey, and comfortable, where we can kick back on the couches and knit and chat...with scrumptious and very tempting yarns and patterns, a knowledgable owner who is a joy to be around and understands what customer service is all about.

Whoohoo!

Now, I've had a big day and I need to do a little sewing, but I think it's perhaps time for a nap. Wouldn't you know, it's another crystal clear SUNNY day...and my eyes aren't that happy with the bright light. I'm going to rest them a bit and hope to keep the headache at bay!
((((Hugs))))

I always get a little startled when I meet someone who reads my blog and doesn't comment too.

Love the laceweight yarn. I look forward to seeing you knit it up! Luck you for winning it!

I'm so envious because both my LYS's closed during the last year.

Lovely CTH laceweight yarn. And the log cabin blanket is smashing. Such pretty colors you've chosen too! Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Namaste

I honor the place in you,

which is of love, truth, light, and peace.

When you are centered in that place in you,

and I am centered in that place in me,
