Feeding My Addiction & Comment Change Again Too!
The second is from elann and is the softest Jo Sharp Silkroad DK Tweed in the colorway “Boheme.” This yarn is so soft and the colors so true to the website, I simply can’t wait to make it up into Vogue Knitting Fall 2005 Lace Wrap (#15). Since the man from my past loves opera as much as I do, and La Boheme is one of our favorites, I think this yarn is terribly appropriate, what do you think? And since I couldn’t have begun to afford to use the recommended cashmere yarn for this project, this yarn is a wonderful alternative. Yet another one for the Just for Me KAL…am I selfish?
My dear “sis” Kitt has asked two things of me and I’m going to try to comply. First, she was disappointed that she could no longer comment to my blog and on searching through Blogger, I discovered that I can ask people to enter one of those nonsense “words” when they post and that will help to protect against spam. So I’ve changed my settings once again, and you’ll be able to comment if you’re not a registered user, but everyone will have to do this one extra little step. I hope you don’t mind?
The second request will be harder for me to do: Kitt wants me to review the yarns I use. When you consider that my level of expertise is limited with regard to yarns, I feel a little under-qualified for this. I’ve only just started using the better yarns. But I’ll try to comply!!!
I can tell you that the elann Sock It To Me fingering weight sock yarn that I’m using to make the Traveling Vines Scarf is not as kind to my allergies as the Merino wool is. I can do a few rows, then have to put it down, because my palms are itching. But I will preserver! I love this scarf and it will drape over my coat, not up against my skin! The colors in this yarn are stunning as it makes up into the lace, too. I’ll post a photo of that when I’m a bit farther along so you can really see the pattern.
Of course, my mom would say that if my palm's itching, money is coming my way! Don't I wish! More $$ for yarns!!! (((Hugs)))
